I've always been interested in the rise of Anna Wintour and after watching The Devil Wears Prada for the umpteenth time and falling down a YouTube rabbit hole watching documentaries, interviews and video essays on her career I had an idea for a more accurate biopic that covered her early days in her career up the her early years at Vogue. Initially I had thought about calling this project 'The Creator' but I didn't think that was as reflective of her legacy and instead settled on 'The Curator'. Imagining Margot Robbie playing a young Anna Wintour, I created a press style photograph of Robbie dressed up in the part of young winter, relying on my photo compositing skills and digital illustration skills to do this, and then created a mockup of a spiral bound book, similar to those she uses to plan the various issues of Vogue on a regular basis, filled with hundreds of posit notes sticking out of it's many pages.
Although this project started as a modest passion pursuit, it evolved into an impressive proof of concept for a potential, imagined movie, capturing the essence of Wintour's extraordinary, polarising and controversial journey to the heights of the fashion world.
